How To Achieve And Maintain A Healthy Work-Life Balance?

You think that money, career and success are the most important things in modern life. You are so wrapped up in your work that you seem to forget your personal life. Twenty four hours in a day is not enough for you to work. You always wish there would be 48 hours per day to complete tasks in progress. Deadlines, frustrations and stress make you sometimes regret and wonder whether you were working to live or living to work. You feel exhausted and have no motivation to try anymore. Thus, how should you do to make you not become a slave of work and maintain a healthy work-life balance? Here are my suggestions.

1. Allocate your time reasonably for each task or project.

It is a good idea to set up daily and weekly schedule with a list of tasks in each field. At the end of each day or each week, you had better summarize the volume of completed tasks and set goals for the coming days or weeks.

2. Set a boundary between work and life

Remember a rule: Do not work everywhere at any time. When you are in company, you do not solve personal problems during working hours. When you come back home, you should spend time eating together with your family or talking with your children. Gradually, it will form a good habit. You will be more efficient and productive at work. Obviously, you will be more comfortable at home without any work-related stress.

3. Change your way of thinking

This does not mean you have to change all your previous habits, behaviors, plans or goals. However, you should try at least once to think differently than you have previously thought. Surely, you will find that life is much more enjoyable. Nothing changes if you do not change. When you change, everything changes.

4. Take time to relax

Do not forget to take care of your health. After a working day, you can relax by drinking coffee and reading some books you like best. Moreover, joining a yoga class is also a good idea. Undertaking many tasks at the same time is the worst way that makes you be exhausted, tired and uncreative.

Those above suggestions are summarized from my experience. I do not recommend that you should allocate half of your time for work and half of yours for life. It depends on you. Remember that this is your own life and there are more important things than money, career, fame and success.
