6 Reasons Why You Should Go To Hoi An VietNam.

We’re often asked what places are our favourites and while it is a difficult to answer this because each place has something different to offer, there are a few things that make a place stand out to us such as the locals, culture and a palpable positive energy.

Here now are 6 Reasons Why Hoi An is the best place in Vietnam.

1) Walkability
Hoi An is small and the UNESCO World Heritage site is extremely walkable as everything from the world famous tailors, to the pubs and higher end restaurants on the water, to the discos across the river are all within a quick 20 minute walk from the centre.

2) Friendly Locals
It's popular to see smiling-face in Hoi An and friendly greeting "hello" by the locals here. They are happy and kind to invite a stranger to join their lunch, dinner with their family, or simple a local beer on streets.

3) Pristine White Sand Beaches
Hoi An is surrounded by beautiful rice fields and further out, gorgeous clean white sand beaches.

One of the things we loved most was the ability to hop on a bike and get to wherever you wanted to be. You can ride to the beach, passing miles and miles of paddies and the sweet smell of rice wafting in on the warm breeze. Once you arrive at the beach you are beckoned forward by one of the three or four locals that have turned the concrete pads into bike parking. It is one of the best beaches you have ever been to.

4) The Market
Undoubtedly one of the best markets in Vietnam, the market along the water in old town has anything and everything you could want or need. Fruits, veggies, fish, butchers, T-shirt hawkers, pho stalls, tailors, beauty salons, the market has it all in a small area. This market is also one of our favourites in Southeast Asia because of how colourful and beautiful the surrounding buildings are, relics of this country being under French control.

5) The Tailors

Hoi An is a shoppers heaven where you can find tailor shops everywhere on the streets or near hotel in Hoi An that can make your suit, dress, or whatever only in 1 day. Besides, Hoi An is also known as a shopping paradise that attracts tourists towards its wonderful souvenirs, handicrafts, antique pieces, silk materials and art paintings, and so on.

6) The History

Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site.
